Do you have any question?
Answers to common questions about our process, services, and how we work.
The standard rental includes the Phantom Flex4K (128GB/RAM) camera body + viewfinder, bridge plate and sliding plate, power supply, storage (2x CINEMAGs of 2TB each), onboard TvLogic 5'', control software (Phantom PCC), Cinestation and download station (Phantom Fuse) with a remote iPad system (iPhantom) + Nano link router. The camera comes with a PL mount by default, but if you need a different mount (LPL, Panavision, EF), let us know and we’ll inform you about the pricing.
The Flex4K can record up to 1,000 fps in 4K resolution (4096x2304) and over 2,500 fps at lower resolutions. The exact frame rate depends on the frame size and crop used.
Footage is stored in Cine RAW format on the CineMag IV. Files are downloaded via CineStation by the DIT on set, and typically delivered in ProRes, DPX, or raw format, depending on your needs.
Unfortunately, that’s not an option. We only rent out the camera with the understanding that you'll hire a trusted Phantom technician from our network to ensure safety, efficiency, and to get the most out of the camera. You'll be in charge of hiring the freelance technician directly, as you'll need to coordinate schedules, locations, and shoot conditions. You can check our list of recommended operators in the “About Us” section.
Lighting, tripod, and lenses are not included. However, we’re happy to advise on what works best for high-speed shoots (e.g., high-intensity, flicker-free lighting). We also collaborate with camera rental houses if you're looking to build a full package.
The Flex4K requires a stable and continuous power supply and generates considerable heat, so we recommend a well-ventilated shooting environment. A full tech spec PDF is available in the “Services” > “Phantom Camera Rental” section of our website.
Yes. With the PCC system, you can review shots immediately after capture. You can also ask your video assistant to set up a dedicated monitoring system for instant playback at video village.
It records in Cine RAW (.cine) format and can be converted to ProRes, DPX, TIFF, or other formats in post-production using the appropriate software.
Yes. We offer pre-shoot test sessions at an additional cost (subject to availability). It’s ideal for prepping lighting setups and sync tests.
We require production insurance with technical equipment coverage, or alternatively, a refundable security deposit. In all cases, the rental client is fully responsible for the camera from the moment it leaves our premises until it’s returned.
